Kanu I Ka Pono-Wa‘a: February 12th and 13th 2015

Continuing with the new wa‘a lessons, the Ho‘opili Program returned to Kaua‘i for the Kanu I Ka Pono delivery. Once again, partnering with the Waipā Foundation, they hosted us for the wa‘a unit. The Waipā Foundation brought two types of vessels for our delivery. The first was a traditional wa‘a and the other was an outrigger style racing boat. The winds were blowing and the surf was up, but that didn’t stop Kumu Kanoe, Uncle Kapule, Uncle Keith and the Haumāna from braving the high seas to do their lessons! As always the kids from Kanu I Ka Pono and the Waipā group were great.
