Hālau Lōkahi Delivery – April 14 - 22, 2014
Our team was excited to deliver our wa‘a unit to the students of Hālau Lōkahi because of their enthusiasm for activities we had for them in the past. They used their resourcefulness to put their own stamp on the activities we presented this week.
Our field day was held at Kaiona Beach Park in Waimanālo. Kumu Junior captained his wa‘a and took groups of students sailing while others created star compasses using materials they found on the beach. This helped them prepare for their star compass activities to come later in the week.
Students in their groups making star compasses with the addition of drawing a picture that represents the names of the houses.
Students show off their finished compasses.
