Kamaile Academy PCS - Wai‘anae O‘ahu - May Day Festival: May 4, 2016
The Mahope program was honored to be invited to Kamaile Academy’s annual May Day celebration. The parents, guardians, and the community were treated to an awesome event. The opening of the event was presided by Kamaile Academy’s Royal Court which included the Queen, King, Pu lo‘ulo‘u, Lady in Waiting, Pa‘a Kāhili (Kāhili Bearers), and Pū (Conch Shell) Blowers. Following tradition, student representatives (royal) of all of the Hawaiian Islands were in attendance. Moving toward the core of the May Day event, were the outstanding individual grade level performances by the students from Pre-K through Grade sixth. Lastly, individual performances by the Royal Court and the May Day Queen were presented to the audience.
