Virtual STEM Camp - October 5-9, 2020

During the Fall 2020 Intersession, Mālama ʻĀina Foundation hosted a five day virtual STEM camp for middle school students on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island.

Students met with our kumu via Zoom for a week of immersive, culture-based learning that included virtual educational experiences along with hands-on activities using STEM kits distributed by MAF. Each kit included all of the necessary materials for students to follow along with the daily lesson activity from home.

Wednesday, October 7, Kumu Sean hosts a virtual huakaʻi (field trip) to a Hawaiian fishpond.

The MAF virtual STEM camp brought together safety, education, and innovation to provide families in our local communities with an accessible alternative to a traditional intersession program.
