On February 9, Mālama ʻĀina Foundation, in collaboration with Partners in Development Foundation, met with students and faculty at Waiʻanae High School on the west side of Oʻahu to implement an innovative way to grow food.

These planter boxes utilize the natural farming technique that does not include pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Click here to check out or previous post on natural farming in Waiʻanae.

This planter box will provide an interactive way for students of Waiʻanae High School to study soil composition, measure photosynthesis, and model carbon cycling, while also having a hands-on experience with natural farming and growing their own food in the process.
